Welcome to Flight Academy. We are grateful that you have chosen our school to be part of your child’s early learning journey. Flight Academy is a micro school that begins as a preschool and is designed to grow with children as they develop academically, emotionally, and socially. Our environment is warm, supportive, and intentionally structured to help children feel safe, confident, and ready to learn.

Our mission at Flight Academy is to nurture the whole child, academically, emotionally, and socially, within a supportive and engaging learning environment. We are committed to cultivating academic excellence, developing strong character, and fostering emotional intelligence. Philosophy and Curriculum

Flight Academy believes that children learn best when they feel emotionally safe, supported, and valued.
Program Foundation: Mental wellness and emotional intelligence are the foundation of our program, followed closely by the development of strong literacy skills.
Behavior Approach: We view behavior as a form of communication and support children through positive redirection, problem-solving, and emotional awareness rather than punishment.
Curriculum Length: Our curriculum is a 40-week themed program.
We ask that families work closely with the school to ensure consistency between home and school for the best possible outcomes.

Enrollment and Admission Policies

Eligibility: Children must be fully potty trained, able to participate in the program with reasonable accommodations if needed, and up to date on required immunizations unless medically exempt.
Uniform & Supplies: Families are required to provide a change of clothes, and children must arrive in the required school uniform each day.
Trial Period: All new enrollments are subject to a **two-week trial period** to ensure the program is a good fit. During this time, either party may end enrollment with short notice.
Children with special needs are welcomed when appropriate supports can be reasonably provided. Families are encouraged to discuss individual needs with the Director prior to enrollment.

Tuition and Fees

Flight Academy operates on a school-year schedule from September through May. Tuition is based on enrollment status and program level.

Payment and Financial Policies

Minimum Commitment: Enrollment requires a minimum commitment of three days per week.
Due Dates: Tuition is due weekly on Mondays, with monthly and annual payments due on the 1st of each start term.
Accepted Methods: Accepted payment methods include electronic payments, bank drafts, credit or debit cards, or money orders.
Registration Fee: A non-refundable annual registration of $100/150 for families.
Fees May Apply: Late payments, late pick-ups, and uniform replacement fees may apply.
Families using childcare subsidies are responsible for all co-payments, uniform costs, and any tuition balance not covered by the subsidy.
Absences/Withdrawal: Tuition is due regardless of absences. A two-week written notice is required for withdrawal.
Vacation credits may be available after six months of enrollment with advance notice.

Hours, Attendance, and Closures

Operating Hours: Flight Academy is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:45 PM.
Drop-Off Window: Children may be dropped off between 7:15 and 8:00 AM.
Tardy: Children arriving after 8:10 AM are considered tardy.
Late Drop-Off: No drop-offs are allowed after 9:00 AM without prior approval for the safety of students and staff.
Pick-Up Deadline: Pick-up must occur by 3:45 PM, and late fees apply.
The school observes scheduled holidays, early dismissal days, and professional development closures as outlined in the annual calendar provided to families.
In cases of severe weather or emergencies, Flight Academy follows SAISD closure guidance when applicable.

Health, Safety, and Liability

Children must be healthy to attend school. Families are required to keep children home when they show signs of illness and to pick up children promptly if illness develops during the school day.
Medication is administered only with proper authorization and only prescription medication.
Flight Academy maintains emergency preparedness procedures and conducts regular safety drills. Emergency contacts must be kept current at all times.

Liability Acknowledgment: Flight Academy does not carry liability or accident insurance. By enrolling a child, parents and guardians acknowledge and accept full responsibility for their child’s participation and agree to hold Flight Academy harmless from claims related to injury or loss, except where otherwise required by law.

Family Partnership and Communication

Flight Academy values strong partnerships with families. Open, respectful communication is encouraged, and families are expected to stay informed through school communications.
Concerns should first be addressed with the teacher or Director so that solutions can be reached collaboratively.
Families play an important role in reinforcing emotional skills, routines, and expectations at home. Together, we create a consistent and supportive experience for each child.
